Under the Loupe

Under the Loupe, sponsored in part by an unrestricted educational grant provided by Genentech/ Biogen Idec, is composed of three unique forums about lupus that aim to build lupus awareness, education and outreach. Each forum will bring together patients and doctors to highlight lupus basics, help clarify the complexity of clinical trials, and inform the public about local lupus resources available in Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens.

On Wednesday, April 25, The Lupus Alliance of America, Long Island/Queens Affiliate, along with members of the LRI National Coalition from across the country, converged on Capitol Hill to sound a need for funding of lupus research. Life Without Lupus Bracelet

We all know how important it is to make people aware of lupus. So, in keeping with the current trend we now have available the Lupus Awareness Bracelet. The bracelet is orange in color and says “Life Without Lupus”. It is part of an awareness campaign of the Lupus Research Institute National Coalition which includes the largest independent lupus agencies in the country.

We are also “jumping onto the band wagon” with the car ribbon magnets. They will be purple with “Life Without Lupus” written on it and a toll free number. They are being sold for $2.50 each.
