Annual Appeal/ #GivingTuesday
The Lupus Alliance of LIQ is the only lupus agency located on Long Island serving Nassau, Suffolk and Queens and dedicated solely to helping those whose lives are affected by lupus in our community. For over 50 years we have been here offering support, education, awareness, advocacy and a commitment to funding research.
As the Executive Director, I am thrilled that in the past year we added the Lupus Friend program, daytime support groups in both Wantagh and Southampton and an all-day interactive symposium to our list of programs and services. We will continue to further our mission in 2017 introducing new Suffolk County Events. Everything we do at the LALIQ is done with the goal of reaching out and assisting more people in the lupus community who desperately need our help. One of our goals for 2017 is to answer the voices of those we serve by offering more positive living with lupus programs, showcasing alternative therapies, positive mind-body connections and more.
Thank you for your past support! When you give to our annual campaign, your thoughtful contribution goes directly towards funding research, education and advocacy as well as our support groups, telephone counseling, kid’s groups and our financial assistance program. If you have supported us in the past, you have witnessed the effect your donation can have on the life of someone living with lupus today. Our financial assistance program has helped patients receive their uncovered medications, wheelchair ramps, handicapped accessibility to bathrooms, and much needed dental work due to damage from years of medications. Generous donors like yourself have seen their contributions go to worthy college age students who have lived with lupus since adolescence or have watched their parent struggle with the disease since they were small children.
